Sharing the news

This week we got to share some awesome news from Mason, one of our Kakano crew. His Mum

is expecting a baby. Mrs Dwas at the Mount a few weeks ago and talked about how she had

seen a baby reveal. This is where they pop a balloon and let people know if you are having

a boy or a girl depending on what streamers pop out of the balloon. So we did the same.

K1-3 got to share in the news with Mason. It turns out Mum is having a boy.

Fantastic news Mason and family. We wish you all the best.

Week 5 Term 4

 Week 5  Term 4

Week 5 already! Time is flying by this term. After a few busy weeks, this week is relatively quiet. It has been great to see so many of you remembering your hats every day so that you can play outside. Remember to keep bringing your water bottles, filled with water, as our school fountains are sealed off with Level 2 restrictions.

This week:

Literacy: Structure - how is the book/story made up (Beginning / middle / end). You can help by asking simple questions about books that you read together “What happened at the beginning of the story?” “What happened next?” “Then what happened?” “What happened last?”. This will also help with their understanding of the story

Numeracy: We will be focussing on counting on, or back, from any number in tens e.g. 43 + 30 = 43...53, 63, 73

Religious Education: We are looking at how God is fair and just to everyone, and wants us to live like that too.

Balance

Today we were doing some work on Body Attack. One of the things we were working on was Balance. We put some bricks(lego) on our head and tried to go from a sitting position to our knees. This was a little tricky for some of our tamariki! We tried holding the lego on the back of our hand and walking around, we put some bricks on our head and on our opened palms while walking around- there was lots of laughter as the bricks fell to the ground. Lots of perseverance and kind words encouraging one another to do well. Super effort everyone!

I'm back at school this week. I fractured my ankle on Wednesday and needed to rest my

foot. I am back at school with a moon boot on for 6 weeks.
