Week 5 Term 2

Week 5 Term 2

This week is Samoan Language Week. This year’s theme for Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa - Samoa Language Week 2021 is Poupou le lotoifale. Ola manuia le anofale which means strengthen the posts of your house, for all to thrive.

When you’re building a foundation for a fale (house) it can’t have a weak foundation or posts. This is the same for the foundations of our families, schools and churches that play an important role in strengthening Gagana Samoa (the Samoan Language). Language is important for the foundations of our overall well being.

Here are some youtube links to hear and learn the song, 'Le Aute':

Oreo Golden Time

Today for Golden Time we had an Oreo Challenge. The children had to put an Oreo on their forehead. Then with their hands behind their back they had to manoeuvre the Oreo into their mouth. It was very challenging! What awesome perseverance Kakano 1 showed today. Raeya and Pascal battled it out in the final. Pascal was our overall winner. Thanks Kakano 1 for fun.

Pentecost Birthday Party

What a fabulous way to start the day by celebrating the church's birthday with a birthday breakfast. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, friends and caregivers who were able to join us. It was wonderful to be able to share our celebration with you. The children were very well mannered and thoroughly enjoyed the waffles and pancakes (with chocolate sauce or maple syrup) and the friendship fruit salad (peaches = kind words, pears = kind actions, marshmallows = fun games, and sprinkles = 100s of smiles we share).
